Diwali is close — but where are the hosting sales?
Diwali 2026 is on 8 November (Lakshmi Puja), and the big marketplace sales are already shifting gears: Flipkart’s Big Billion Days ended yesterday (18 October), while Amazon’s Great Indian Festival continues into its next waves — our English comparison of both sales tracks that story. But for anyone shopping for web hosting, one question is still unanswered: will Diwali bring genuinely cheaper hosting, or just “up to 80% off” banners?
The honest answer, as of 19 October 2026: no major host has announced an official Diwali-2026 branded sale. What is live today is MilesWeb’s current plan lineup with a flash-sale banner, and Hostinger’s regular intro prices with no festive branding. This article is based on official pricing pages we opened and verified ourselves, plus the sale patterns of past years — with every “expected” claim clearly labelled as expected, not announced.
One important update since our Hindi version of this guide (15 October): MilesWeb’s lineup has changed. The “same price at renewal” guarantee that appeared on its shared plan cards is gone, and a new Premium plan sits at the centre of its range. Details below — because repeating the old claim would now be dishonest.
What’s actually live right now (19 October)
Hostinger: no Diwali-branded or festive-season banner on the India site — neither on the homepage nor in the pricing section. The prices on display are its standard intro rates. One thing to watch: deal trackers report that Hostinger’s festive/Black Friday window opens today, 19 October, and runs through 14 December — but Hostinger’s own site has made no such announcement as of our last check. We’ll update this article if a banner appears.
MilesWeb: an evergreen Diwali offers page is live, advertising “up to 80% off” shared hosting alongside “up to 64%” VPS and “up to 66%” cloud — but this page is recycled from previous years, so treat its headline percentages as evergreen marketing, not 2026 pricing. The real numbers are on its web-hosting page, where a flash-sale banner (“80% Off Hosting + Free Domain”) runs with a countdown timer. An honest note: such countdown timers usually recycle (a new one starts when the old one ends), so don’t treat it as “ends today” pressure. The deal lives in the plan prices, not the timer.
Hostinger: no festive banner, but the prices are verified (17 October)
Every number below was read directly from hostinger.com/in on 17 October 2026, from the plan cards themselves. Intro prices are for the 48-month term; renewal prices are printed verbatim under each plan card as “Renews at ₹X/mo”.
| Plan | Intro price/mo | Renews at | Jump | 48-month total |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Single | ₹69 (83% off) | ₹289 | 4.2x | ₹3,312 |
| Premium | ₹149 (75% off) | ₹449 | 3.0x | ₹7,152 |
| Unlimited | ₹249 (64% off) | ₹649 | 2.6x | ₹11,952 |
| Cloud Startup | ₹599 (65% off) | ₹1,599 | 2.7x | ₹28,752 |
Yearly plans include a free domain for 1 year, and there’s a 30-day money-back guarantee. GST is the same story as everywhere else: Hostinger India’s footer says prices are listed without GST, so 18% is added at checkout — the ₹449/mo Premium renewal is really about ₹530/mo.
Hostinger.com/in on 17 October 2026 — Single “Renews at ₹289/mo”, Premium “Renews at ₹449/mo”, Unlimited “Renews at ₹649/mo”, Cloud Startup “Renews at ₹1,599/mo”; all intro prices on the 48-month term
To see what that jump means in practice: Premium costs ₹7,152 (+ ₹1,287 GST = ₹8,439) for the first 48 months — an effective ₹176/mo. The next 48 months cost ₹449 × 48 = ₹21,552 + GST. The second cycle costs roughly three times the first. That’s why the headline price is never the full story.

MilesWeb: new lineup, and the renewal guarantee quietly disappeared
MilesWeb was long known for “same price at renewal” on its shared plans — and on 14 October that claim was still printed on its plan cards. By 17 October it was gone. The plan lineup itself changed too:
| Plan | Offer price/mo | Discount | Renewal status |
|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | ₹69 | 83% OFF | No renewal claim on cards — unconfirmed |
| Advance | ₹99 | 80% OFF | No renewal claim on cards — unconfirmed |
| Premium (MOST POPULAR) | ₹129 | 80% OFF | ₹289/mo — per MilesWeb’s own comparison table |
| Unlimited | ₹229 | 69% OFF | No renewal claim on cards — unconfirmed |
MilesWeb’s own “MilesWeb vs Others” table puts it plainly: renewal ₹289/mo against an offer price of ₹129/mo (with the caveat that prices are “indicative and based on publicly available information”). That’s a 2.24x jump on the Premium plan — the same-renewal story no longer holds there, at least.
MilesWeb.in on 17 October 2026 — the new four-plan lineup on the 36-month term; the “same price at renewal” claim no longer appears on the plan cards
What MilesWeb still offers: 24/7 English + Hindi support (stated on its official page), free domain for the first year, free SSL, daily backups, and a proper GST-invoice flow for Indian businesses — covered in detail in our GST-invoice hosting guide. The disappearing renewal guarantee only changes the budgeting: plan for ₹289/mo on Premium, not ₹129/mo.

| Current offer | Standard intro prices | Flash sale: 80% off + free domain |
| Entry shared plan | Single ₹69/mo | Starter ₹69/mo |

Year-one sticker prices are nearly identical — the real difference is at renewal, and neither brand is the “same price forever” story anymore. Run both side by side in our hosting comparison tool, which carries the verified renewal data.
The real Diwali math: renewal + GST + domain
The biggest trap in festive hosting banners is always the renewal price. One worked example:
- Hostinger Premium: ₹149/mo × 48 months = ₹7,152 for the first term. Renewal at ₹449/mo means the same plan costs about ₹21,552 for the next 48 months — 3x the first cycle.
- MilesWeb Premium: ₹129/mo × 36 months = ₹4,644 for the first term. Renewal at ₹289/mo (their own table) means the next 36 months cost about ₹10,404 — 2.24x the first cycle.
Then add 18% GST on top of everything: a ₹149/mo plan becomes ~₹176/mo at checkout, a ₹289/mo renewal becomes ~₹341/mo. And the free domain lasts only year one — from year two, a .com renewal runs roughly ₹800–1,200/year on its own.
The genuine-deal formula: (intro price × term + GST) + (renewal price × expected years + GST) + domain renewal = true cost. The deal that wins this math is the genuine one. Our website cost calculator does exactly this calculation — better than being impressed by a banner.
What happened last year — the basis for “expected” (these are 2025 numbers, NOT 2026 deals)
Until 2026’s Diwali-branded sales are announced, last year’s pattern is the best available guess. The figures below are 2025 only — do not read them as 2026 deals:
- MilesWeb Diwali 2025: “up to 76% off” + 3 months free, free .COM domain, free SSL and free migration (per deal listings).
- Hostinger India Diwali 2025: “up to 80% + extra 7% off” with coupon codes, plus extra free months on yearly plans.
Two patterns emerge: (1) Diwali offers are typically announced in mid-to-late October — so announcements in the next 2–3 weeks would be completely normal; (2) Diwali deals usually add perks on top of regular intro prices (extra months, free domain) rather than cutting the base price further. That’s why waiting for “Diwali” rarely means waiting for a cheaper base price.
5 rules for spotting a genuine deal (Diwali-season edition)
- Always question “up to”. The headline discount applies to the longest term. Verify your actual per-month price for your billing term at checkout.
- Look at the renewal price first, the discount second. An 80% first-year discount means little if the renewal is 4x and you’re staying for 3 years.
- Don’t panic at countdown timers. Flash-sale timers usually recycle. The substance is in the price, not the timer.
- Never forget GST and domain renewal. 18% GST plus the second-year domain charge can add 15–20% to the true cost.
- Keep “expected” and “announced” separate. Until a deal appears on the host’s official site or an official announcement, don’t build your plan around it — no matter how many sites quote its dates.
Buy now or wait for Diwali (8 November)?
Three buyer types, three strategies:
- Your website needs to launch now: Don’t wait. MilesWeb’s current plans and Hostinger’s intro prices are live today, and Diwali offers historically add perks on top of these base prices. Waiting for the base price to drop is a waste of time.
- Your launch can flex by 2–3 weeks: Watch the official pages during Diwali week (2–8 November). Hosts typically announce festive offers in late October, and there’s a reported (unverified) Hostinger window opening around 19 October. Bookmark the pages and check weekly.
- Your budget is tightest and you’re thinking long-term: neither brand is a same-price-forever story now. Budget MilesWeb Premium at ₹289/mo renewal, Hostinger Premium at ₹449/mo renewal — pick based on the multi-year total, not the year-one sticker.
A middle path also works: buy a 12-month term now, then extend to a longer term if a festive sale drops. Most hosts let existing customers upgrade at sale prices too.
For small businesses, there’s one more angle: billing matters as much as price. Our guide to GST-invoice hosting covers the paperwork side, and if you’re torn between Hostinger’s plans, the Single vs Premium comparison breaks that decision down.
Research methodology
This article was published on 19 October 2026. Plan prices were last verified on the official sites on 17 October 2026: hostinger.com/in (intro prices on 48-month term, “Renews at” figures under each plan card, GST-excluded footer note) and milesweb.in/web-hosting (plan cards on the 36-month term, disappearance of the same-renewal claim, and the Premium ₹289/mo renewal figure from MilesWeb’s own comparison table). MilesWeb’s evergreen Diwali offers page (milesweb.in/blog/news-and-updates/web-hosting-diwali-offers/) was checked on 15 October — it is recycled from previous years, so its headline percentages are not treated as 2026 pricing. The reported Hostinger 19 October–14 December window comes from third-party deal trackers (hostingguider.com, zoutons.com) and is not confirmed on Hostinger’s official site. 2025 sale patterns come from third-party deal listings and are labelled as 2025 throughout. No product was personally tested. Screenshots were captured from official pages on 17 October 2026. Deals change quickly — lastVerified: 2026-10-19; the checkout page is always the final authority, and this page will be updated when sales are announced.
